What is ShadeCores?
ShadeCores is a game designed to mimic the oldschool version of Tibia.com, but in a slower pace.
Our goal is to be a long lasting and functional game that doesn't run a course of being broken after a few years.
Read more at: About -What is ShadeCores?.

World Map
The map contains all places of Tibia 7.70.
It also contains 100% spawns of Tibia 7.70.
With exception of Port Hope.

Built authentically
ShadeCores was built hand in hand with hacked Tibia files (7.70 version) and is very accurate to how Tibia was (with exception things that has been improved).
If you played Tibia back in 7.4-7.70 and join ShadeCores, you will yourself notice how scary accurate every single spawn is.
Read more at: About -Additional Information.

Game health
We have made many modifications to ensure a healthy economy and game.
Read more at: About -Keeping the balance of the game.

Creature Behavior
In ShadeCores, same as in CipSoft's, creatures also doesn't have any exhaustion of their abilities such as attacks, healings and more.
Read more at: FAQ -Creature Behavior.

Creature spawns
ShadeCores has the very same spawn system that CipSoft's had back in the day.
All creatures that spawns has a "home".
And this "home" has a set amount of creatures that belongs to it, always same type of creature.
Read more at: FAQ -Creature spawns.

Accurate creature loot & inventory
ShadeCores have an accurate loot & inventory system for creatures, working identically as it did in CipSoft's back in the day.
Which means that creatures with items that give light, will also light up the creature, or armors that will increase the armor of the creature, or that when a creature wear boots of haste, it will run noticeably faster!
Read more at: FAQ -Creatures equipping their loot & loot system.

Authentic exhaustions
Believe it or not, OT's have it completely wrong, OTs uses 1 or 2 kind of exhaustions depending on which version they're meant to reflect (healing + attacking spells).
However, in CipSoft's, there were 3 different exhaustions in the old days, 4 if you include "using item on.." exhaustion which was 1 second.
Read more at: FAQ -Exhaustion system.

Floor saving
ShadeCores are running with a map-saving system that allow the map to save certain edits done by players.
The edits can almost be anything from items added to certain places, to open doors, wall torches that's lit or not, items hiding in boxes, book cases or even unexpected containers invisible to the naked eye.
Read more at: FAQ -Floor saving system.

Game health balance
To ensure that ShadeCores become as perfect as possible, a lot has to be considered and corrected.
Our goal is to make a long lasting and functional game that doesn't run a course of being broken after a few years.
In ShadeCores, you're not meant to get unlimited supplies, hunting dragons, dragon lords, demons or other demonic critters, we don't fancy the rushed pace much of Tibia has become along with the community.
Read more at: FAQ -Game Health Balance (creatures, supplies, gold).

Keep valuables valuable
In ShadeCores it's harder to obtain "good" equipment, which will turn lower level equipment into the new good equipment.
Read more at: FAQ -Game Health Balance (equipment).

Line of sight system
In ShadeCores we use the same line-of-sight system as in CipSoft's.
You may notice when you're playing that sometimes you can throw things in a way you can't do in most OT's.
And you' may also notice that sometimes, you cannot throw things in same way as in most OT's.
Read more at: FAQ -Line of sight system.

Poison storm
Almost every OT either has ticking poison damage from around 50 counting down until 0, while others have an instant damage followed by poison or some other mixtures.
While in reality, damage of the poison storm is decided by level and magic level, from the first tick of damage, it decreases with a few % until it reaches 0.
Read more at: FAQ -Poison storm.

Traps functionality
Traps does a static amount of damage. 30 to be exact, it's always 30.
However, traps cause a physical damage that listen to the creatures armor.
It means that the damage can and will be reduced by any armor the creature may have.
Read more at: FAQ -Traps (item).

World light & watches
In ShadeCores, time and world light works exactly like it did in CipSoft's back in the day.
Read more at: FAQ -World lights & watches.

Anti-Cheat system
We have a very advanced and automatic anti-cheat system that detects all kind of cheats rather quickly, be it bot, macro, tasker or others.
This system was first developed and proven to work very well in RetroCores world "Cleanera".
It has since then been improved to be faster and detect a wider array of cheats that people could use.

A lot of servers has basically lied about that they're anti-bot, most of players have been in "anti-bot" servers that's been exploding with cheats and nobody gets punished, which is why most with good reason wont trust whenever someone says they're "antibot".
But through Cleanera@RetroCores, we've verified for a lot of people that we're not bullshitting you, we're legit, we have a system that works and a lot of people have tested it and found themselves shocked when their "secret cheat" got caught even though nobody was nearby them.

Other Game Features

  • Ability to play for free.
  • No level restrictions on items nor spells.
  • Non-stackable runes/fluids.

Update 1.22 -Internal fixes

Today we're releasing update 1.22, which brings some internal fixes and improvements.

The only player-visible change is that level 1 characters no longer shows empty mana, there the client thought the character should have 1 in max mana while it is, in reality, 0, resulting in "empty mana".

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

Update 1.21 -Improvements

Today, we're releasing update 1.21, which brings a few improvements to the game.

We've successfully made it so that using the mouse on tiles works the same way they used to work in CipSoft's.
Which means it's now possible to use items, open containers, and do other stuff that's under a living creature!
This was not possible by right-clicking before, unless using the menu, but is not possible in the majority of the creatures found in ShadeCores!
Note that, just like CipSoft's, this doesn't work on some creatures, for example, small ones such as rats.

How it worked previously

How it should work, and how it works now

We have also fixed a graphical issue where monsters would look like they disappear when walking on other floors than you and walking into tiles that you couldn't see.
From now on, it will look natural, and you will see their movement correctly, even if they reach places there you technically can't see them.

How it was before

How it should be and what it is now

Additional changes

  • Fixed an issue that could make you lose target when retargeting a new creature shortly after the previous creature died.
  • Fixed attack squares that could look uneven with different sizes when using any other quality setting than 64p.

Due to some very odd events this summer, our host provider had major issues with their services, we've experienced the issue that they'd reboot their dedicated servers back and forth with little to no warning.
Almost all Core-Series suffered greatly from this, worlds taken offline and being rolled back.
Due to that situation, today we're happy to announce that we've added a detection against unauthorized shutdowns that will kick players and save the entire game before it's turned off.
Thanks to the many optimizations done to the game previously, the game can be taken offline in less than a second with no loss of data.

We sincerely hope, we designed the detection in vain and that it will never be used, but now you'll know that you'll be safe even if the game suddenly shuts off with no warning!

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

Update 1.20 -HD, Graphical options, new launcher

Today, we're happy to present you with update 1.20!

HD Graphics
We've increased the base size of the game from the previous 32x32 to 64x64 pixels, enabling us to enhance the graphics of ShadeCores.
We've enchanted every sprite of ShadeCores to be as good-looking as possible, as 4x the size, while still keeping the oldschool aspect.

Choose which graphics fit you the best
Full-HD, HD or Traditional?

You can choose which graphics quality you prefer in Client > Options > Graphics -> Graphics Quality.

Additional to HD graphics, we've made you able to adjust the thickness of the attack-square
You can adjust it in Options > Graphics > Attack square thickness.

New core-logic of the client

  • Controls of the client and loading of the map and assets are separate, a delayed loading of the map/assets will not impact the movements of the character.
  • Previously, if something wasn't loaded quickly enough, you could feel it as a micro-stutter (many didn't notice until after testing the new client).
  • The client will start much faster than previous clients.
  • Many issues related to client crashes on unstable computers have been resolved.

New launcher
Visually, there's no difference, but functionality is much greater.
It has wider support for various systems.

But most importantly, it has a better way of determining what's wrong in case someone cannot start the client, it will take you to the support page that will display exactly what went wrong, and list up possible solutions for that exact problem, rather than having 1 large page with multiple errors and solutions.

If your current launcher fails to download the new version, you may need to download it manually (download windows client).
If so, you can just replace your old launcher(s) with the new ones (look for identical names in client folder).

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

Update 1.19 -Massive improvements

Today, we're happy to present you with update 1.19, which brings a lot of improvements to ShadeCores!

Massive performance optimizations and improvements:
The game will use much fewer resources to run its day-to-day tasks.
While also optimizing the communication between the game and client, which results in anything from 30% to 99.9% less usage of bandwidth, depending on what you're doing online.

The update is so massive that large parts of the internal game have been completely remade.
It impacts the game in a few ways, such as:

  • Multiple walking-mismatch issues fixed, such as monsters/players getting stuck/frozen.
(rare, but it has happened a few times).
  • Monsters made smarter and quicker, they will keep up with you as you flee from them!
(Before they would not react on you running away for a second).
  • The client will always display the correct amount of exp to the next level.
(on rare occasions, it would show wrong before).

Website changes:

  • All official items NPCs/Monsters have are now available on website.
  • Information about NPC's items is much more detailed (buying/selling/trading).
  • Improved styling and functionality in the library section.
  • Spells NPCs are now available on the website, and you can find/search for spells that each NPC sells. (example: haste)
  • General optimizations and improvements across whole site.

Spell NPCs improvements:

  • Spell NPCs are now less sensitive when asking for spells.
  • Spell NPCs now recognize all existing spells, and will tell you when asking for spells they cannot teach.
  • Improved spell NPCs of Ab'dendriel and offer spells to sorcerers and knights.
  • Irea no longer sell spells.
  • Shanar no longer sell spells.

NPCs that used to offer spells to druids and paladins are now vocation-exclusive spell teachers:
(Ab'Dendriel NPCs)

Made the following Edron Spell NPCs into vocation-exclusive:

NPC improvements:

  • Made it possible to buy multiple parcels at the same time from mail-NPCs.
  • Asking NPCs for offer will reveal items they sell/buy/trade, additionally, they will reveal if they offer other things such as bank, spells, blessings, boat and more.
  • Fixed so items are taken from containers first in all cases, from equipment second if none other exist in inventory.
  • Fixed so you cannot sell containers that have items inside them.
  • Fixed so you cannot sell items with charges/duration that have been used.
  • NPC's now have much better replies to words such as "offer", "buy", "sell", "trade" and a few more, and will properly tell what they sell/buy/trade.
  • Spell NPCs have been upgraded to not have keyword conflicts and to be a little more detailed.
  • Travel NPCs have been upgraded to not have keyword conflicts.

Almost every NPC will reveal their common services if you ask them for "offer"

Depot Anti-Trashing
We've created a system to make it harder for players to trash depots of other players.
The one standing at the depot, has no limits, while players standing further away, can put max 12 items on the depot per minute (avg 5 seconds between each item).
This applies even if there's multiple players trying to trash, giving the victim 5 seconds for each item, which will make it much easier to keep up, clean and collect the item he may have hidden under the trash.

Store improvements

  • Improved the delivery of purchased products.
  • Fixed a glitch that allowed you to put house tiles "in the air" around your house.
  • Made tile packages stackable.
  • Made it possible to "pack" store furniture using a house furniture remover.
  • Made it possible to "pack" and recover store tiles using the tile removal package.

Panel Spacer
You can now add "panel spacers" to customize where all your windows and containers should be located in your panels!
By clicking the button "Space++", you will add a new window of panel spacer that you can place and resize, to make your setup just the way you want to!

Minimap upgrades

We've added icons for digits, which give you a new way of being able to mark out the map, be it for quests, missions, monsters, or whatever you would imagine using them for!

We've also upgraded the minimap so it's within a box, which makes it much easier to move around.
This box can also be resized inside the panel, if you want it small or if it should cover the entire panel.

We've also added buttons to toggle different modes, which you see as the 2 square-looking buttons on the top-right of the minimap.
We've created 3 different modes of the minimap, which you can toggle between either using the buttons, or by hotkey CTRL + M.

The newest mode is a free-floating window of the minimap!
You can easily resize this window in all 8 directions, move it, and have it anywhere you want.

You can also place it naturally above the panels, making it look like it belongs, by using the panel spacers.
By using the panel spacers like this. ..
.. you could move the minimap above them and have it look like this, without disturbing/hiding anything.

Other changes:

  • Free account players can now travel with boats to FACC places (boats, carpets, and more).
  • Updated Golden Account information on the website about travel.
  • Made extensive system improvements of NPCs.
  • Client network system has been upgraded and will now be much more stable for players with weak internet, such as WIFI.
  • Fixed ingame detection for CEST/CET (date messages).
  • Made depots global, and added a inbox (QOL & performance related).
  • Changed depot item limit from 5,000 to 25,000 items.
  • Changed parcel item limit from 3,000 to 5,000 items.

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

-Short news
Between July 8-9 there's been major issues in OVH datacenters that negatively affect entire Core-Series, these issues has shut down websites, worlds, networks and load-balancers randomly, the issues originates from OVH doing upgrades that appear not to be rolling out as planned. if a world or website is offline, or if a website isn't updating like it should, or anything weird is going on, it's due to what's happening in OVH. this also affect the network of Core-Series, it may result in loss of connection, or sudden ping spikes.
