The one chance for "Classic RetroCores"

Due to lack of engagement and overall negativity from ShadeCore's part about opening another world over there, this topic has been canceled!
This topic will be changed, and in a new thread, we will discuss our traditional Zenera available in RetroCores instead!

The silent requests
RetroCores has a lot of daily visitors, many are just checking in to see if there's any "good news" for them.
It's been asked and requested here and there for a long time, for Classic RetroCores, especially Zenera (first launch).

And unfortunately, this is not possible in the universe of RetroCores!
Core-Series is mainly split up between 2 serious games..
RetroCores, which is progressive and changing, and ShadeCores, which is the one frozen in time.

RetroCores physically cannot do what classic could, without causing serious harm to the progress, it's neither serious nor safe to have worlds with completely different content, such as removed/restored areas, different logic of items, such as runes not being stackable, and features that are on/off.
For this reason, RetroCores can and will never again be "classic 7.4".

ShadeCores, however, is a very authentic 7.4, more than RetroCores ever were, it's also frozen in time, meaning there's no new content added, to ensure it remains the same today, and in 10 years.

We often say, if you want more classic, ShadeCores is for you.. if 7.4 gets boring and you want more content, RetroCores is the place.
However, even if ShadeCores is more authentic, it's an excellent place to relive "Classic RetroCores" due to the fact it's very close to it.

The One Chance
ShadeCores is expected to launch a new world early this year, what kind of world and what kind of setup is not decided, and here's where you come in!
You have a chance to preach your view, hope for what you feel is right, and a chance to get some classic feelings under the domain of Core-Series.
We are often complimented on our smooth client, stable gameplay, and high quality, together with wishes to bring back a "fun 7.4" such as Zenera (the seasonal world).
This is your chance to get all that, but only this one time.

This one world is the only world to be launched in ShadeCores this year and in any foreseeable future.

ShadeCores also has no "fancy" shop, ShadeCores is not run for profits, its stability and availability come entirely from the funds of RetroCores.
Golden account, Name change, and sex change, are basically the only things that exist in the store of ShadeCores, with a small exception of some house decoration that's not even worth mentioning, and that will never change.

Development of RetroCores
The launch of whatever world in ShadeCores, will not in any meaningful way disrupt the progress of RetroCores, we're still right in the middle of a quite large content update, and we have no plans to stop or pause it.

Submit feedback or join the discussion
If you belong to the group who frequently check for "good news", but rarely play RetroCores, or if you just belong to the group who'd love some classic, making some runes semi-afk while playing RetroCores to fill the "dead-time", you are more than welcome to join in on the thread meant to collect feedback over at ShadeCores:

In case you do not have an account in ShadeCores, you can comment on this article instead.

For those who are not interested in the classic topic, you have nothing to fear, we will drench you in new RetroCores content soon enough!

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

Unexpected client update 1.83

Today, as we launched our new network in Core-Series, we noticed that there was a hidden glitch in the client that didn't properly update when presented with network changes.

For this reason, we have updated the client to 1.83, which functions properly when it comes to detecting changes in the network and applying them correctly.

The new network is much more powerful and handles attacks quickly and more smoothly than ever before, while also removing the risk of disconnection for players when the network is being rebooted.
The old network relied on a delay and hoped for parts of the network to be back online, so a slow reboot somewhere could cause a complete loss of connection to the game.
The new network keeps track of itself, and will only advance a reboot when the previous reboot has been confirmed as completed.

The old network will be shut down completely in a few days time, but nobody will be affected due to the fact that by tomorrow, all players should be online through the new network.

Sincerely,
Core-Series Staff

Extensive maintenance in all Core-Series

This week, between Jan 5 and Jan 11, an extensive maintenance will affect the entire Core-Series.

We're changing hardware on almost every server and node owned by Core-Series.
In pure English, this means that we're replacing every "computer" that's hosting various systems and services.

This may cause some noticeable effects, such as services unavailable, a sudden increase in latency, and others.

We will start by upgrading all game-worlds, which will result in a second server-save, and a few minutes of downtime during the move.
Then we will take care of all websites, which may be unavailable or load slowly for a short period of time.
Then we will take care of various support systems that run side-by-side with websites/games.
And finally, we will update our internal network by replacing all nodes.

Latency increases are expected while we're moving worlds, as we will need to reload the network to forward connections to the new address of the worlds.

This maintenance is also expected to occur at some small window, causing disruptions in the ability to watch CAMs.

Sincerely,
Core-Series
